About the project
Roots and Wings (R&W) is a capacity building in the field of youth (CBY) project within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. It involves a five-day training seminar held in Madrid in 2015, and in Rome in 2016. It also includes mobility of youth workers to Manila, Philippines. CBY is a transnational cooperation project in the area of youth work and informal learning. The project focuses on challenges to be acted on by young people as a result of the needs analysis on the most pressing problems they identified in our society. From these, they selected five they can directly respond to and make a difference. These were: Intercultural and Interreligious diversity (inclusion and intercultural dialogue), Education for all (prevention of school dropouts), Employment for all (addressing youth unemployment), and Participation for all (Youth participation in Civil Society), EDIW, the project coordinator, in partnership with selected universities and associations, provided the framework, the motivation and the training so that young people in Roots and Wings can realize their dream to be part of the solution in offering ways forward to address each challenge.
