Aims & Objectives

Roots and Wings is based on the belief of the importance youth can play in building a new world where identities are grounded, differences are accepted, possibilities for actions are explored and each groups’ contribution are sought after. In accord with this belief, and acting on the need towards social inclusion through education and training in the field of Youth, R&W offers the following objectives:

  • Empower local groups: in their awareness of the importance of youth involvement as agents of inclusion
  • Develop competences for active citizenship: through teamwork and collaborative leadership, social entrepreneurship and project development, intercultural dialogue and conflict resolution, communication or youth voice and vote within organizations, governmental and NGOs alike to be advocates of inclusion and opportunities for all
  • Foster quality of learning: with the best methodologies in blended, non-formal, formal learning in EU countries and partner countries outside Europe
  • Allow for an international learning experience: with exchange of ideas, schemes, methods, concerns among young people and foster knowledge, understanding, empathy with cultures other than one’s own
  • Contribute to recognition of non-formal learning: in enhancing initiatives, consensus building, openness to diversity, as necessary soft skills acquired as leverage for employment
