Making the most of diversity

“Intercultural dialogue is the best guarantee of a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.” (Robert Alan)

We find ourselves in a juncture of history where solidarity, not isolation, communities, not ghettos, interdependence, not individualism are indispensable values toward building peace. In an increasingly growing global reality, intercultural dialogue is a non-negotiable. Dialogue makes cultures meet, differences bridged and fear of the different mitigated.

In our actions of ways forward, R&W has envisioned gatherings of groups that are representative of a society marked by diversity. Methodologies, participants, resource persons and actions were purposely selected to motivate exchange taking into account this diversity. In many ways, dialogue generates the birth of “bridge builders”. Following the guidelines of the Commission, intercultural dialogue was assumed as the underpinning disposition touching other challenges.
